We review each closing individually. Occasionally, some closings require specialty documents. We will guide you, your legal representative, and your real estate representative to prepare documents that only you and they can.

Here are the essentials that you will need to bring to your closing:

DRIVER’S LICENSE — or some other form of government ID. We are required by the US Patriot Act and the Notary Laws to identify who you are. While a driver’s license is the best ID for most of us, you may use a passport or other ID which contains your birth date, an expiration date, and your photo. If you are unsure whether your ID will qualify, please contact us prior to the date of closing.

COPIES OF DOCUMENTS — During your loan application process you may have received documents from your mortgage or real estate company. There are many times when these documents will assist in answering questions that come up during closing.

CERTIFIED / CASHIER’S CHECK — Monies that you are required to bring to closing must be guaranteed funds to assure that they are immediately available. Please contact us if this is a problem. There are solutions that can be arranged, but the earlier we know the better.

PROOF OF HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE — As a condition of your mortgage you were probably required to have proof that the home is covered by an insurance policy. Please bring with you your receipt and declarations page showing that the policy is in place and has been paid.
